Carter Dupuis, Intern

My name is Carter, and I'm graduating in Spring 2026 from Governors State University with a Master's in Counseling, with an emphasis in Clinical Mental Health. In my clinical experience, I've worked with both young adults and older adults from diverse backgrounds, including LGBTQIA+ and neurodiverse communities. The concerns I've supported range from anxiety and depression to crisis intervention-and everything in between.

I've provided therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Relational Therapy, and, most importantly, Person-Centered Counseling. However, I believe therapy models are only tools. What truly matters is understanding the human sitting across from me.

My approach is grounded in honoring each client's unique story. Therapy isn't about fitting people into boxes-it's about working together to explore your experiences, your goals, and what healing or change looks like for you. You are more than a list of your problems. And if it feels hard not to see yourself that way right now, that's okay. We'll figure out what comes next, together.
